The Nanophotonic and Optofluidic Sensors Research Laboratory received research grants from the National Elite Foundation in the form of the Dr. Kazemi Ashtiani Award and the Special Headquarters for the Development of Nanotechnology and the Center for International Science and Technology Interactions in the form of a cooperation program with Iranian experts and entrepreneurs abroad by Dr. Ismail Heydari. It was established in 2018. The mission perspective of this laboratory in the next 3 years based on the combination of time resolution spectroscopy technologies, optical 3D printing, lanthanide frequency incremental conversion nanotechnology and artificial intelligence includes the following:
 
1- Building a new generation of nanophotonic biosensors to measure oxygen concentration by using fluorescence time resolution spectroscopy technology in line with the development of a subcutaneous sensor platform with artificial intelligence capabilities.
2- Fabrication of nanophotonic and minimally invasive biosensors for glucose (blood sugar) measurement for diabetic patients based on subcutaneous oxygen sensor platform with continuous measurement capability
3- Developing a multi-sensor smart platform for measuring environmental parameters
4- Development of photodynamic therapy nanophotonic drugs

And the perspective of the next 5 years based on quantum optics technology:
 
- Development of oxygen quantum optics biosensors with artificial intelligence capabilities

This laboratory is held in the Faculty of Physics, Karaj Campus, located on the ground floor.
