Faculty of Physics:
The Faculty of Physics consists of three groups of Atomic-Molecular, Solid State and Astronomy and High-Energy, which has 20 faculty members and more than 350 students at various levels in various fields in various fields of physics, especially topics. Such as plasma, medical plasma, new energies, photonics, biofolios, lasers, computational physics, nano-physics, gravity and black holes, string theory, cosmology, astronomy and astrophysics.

Atomic & Molecular Group:
Plasma Medical and Plasma:
The medical field first began working in Iran and at Kharazmi University.
This group is equipping an advanced laboratory in the field of plasma and medical plasma.
There are several students studying and doing research in the plasma trends at the undergraduate and Ph.D. levels.
Faculty members active in these fields of research include Dr. Hassan Mahdian (professor), Dr. Ali Hassanbighi (Associate Professor) and Dr. Kamal Haji Sharifi (assistant professor).
Photonics, Nanophotonic and Biofootonic and Nanophysics:
This group has 4 advanced research laboratories. In these labs in the field of nano-physics, solar cells, synthesizing and investigating nanoscale material properties, advanced optics, nonlinear optical materials, laser interaction and materials, bio-optics, and related subjects at the master's and doctoral level are carrying out various research projects. is.

In the field of simulation, magnetic material of theoretical nano-physics, DFT, and related subjects, many activities are underway at the undergraduate and Ph.D. levels.

Solid state Applied:
The Faculty of Physics has two research laboratories in the field, one of which has a very advanced layout device that is unmatched in the Middle East. In these laboratories, different types of solids, especially in the field of new energies such as solar cells, optical and electrical properties of thin films and related subjects, are carried out.
The faculty members are Dr. Mohammad Esmaeil Azim Iragi (Professor) and Dr Nima Arjomandi (assistant professor).
Computational Physics:
At the Faculty of Physics, there are extensive activities in the field of computational physics, simulation of physical phenomena and related subjects at the master's and doctoral levels.
The faculty member is Dr. Faramarz Khanouri (assistant professor).
Astronomy and High Energy Group
In the field of astronomy, extensive activities are done by faculty members both in the promotion of science and in the pursuit of astronomical research.
The Physics Faculty Observatory, located at the Karaj campus, includes various activities including observations of various astronomical phenomena with very good accuracy and theoretical calculations of these phenomena.
The faculty member in these fields is Dr. Farzan Momeni (assistant professor).
In the field of fundamental particle physics, string theory, gravity, black hole physics, AdS / CFT duality, basic cosmology and data analysis, excellent research is done at the master's and doctorate levels.

In 1391, the faculty of physics separated from the Faculty of Science and independently continued its work under the name of the Faculty of Physics.

It should be noted that the field of plasma medicine was first established in the country at Kharazmi University.

The astronomy section research program aims not only at understanding the main issue of modern physical astronomy but also develop it for popular science. Also the study of different object related to observation is one of the main goals of this section.
The Physics Faculty Observatory, located at the Karaj campus, involves various activities including observations of various astronomical phenomena with good accuracy and theoretical calculations of these phenomena.

Karaj campus
Alborz Province is one of the 31 provinces of Iran, centered in Karaj.
Situated northwest of Tehran, the Province of Alborz has 6 counties, Karaj County, Savojbolagh County, Taleqan County, Eshtehard County, Fardis County and Nazarabad County. Karaj is the seat of the province. Alborz Province is situated 35 km west of Tehran, at the foothills of the Alborz mountains, and is Iran's smallest province in area.
According to the National Census, in 2011 population of Alborz was 2,412,513 out of which 90,5% lived in urban areas.
